2023 Pinot Noir, Mariafeld

After a four-year hiatus, our young Mariafeld Pinot Noir vines rewarded us with their first crop. Originally from Switzerland, this unique clone is a nod to Cuvaison’s Swiss roots. Unlike its French counterparts, Mariafeld produces loose clusters with vibrant acidity, tannin, and deep color. At Tai Vineyard, it yields a darker, floral expression with notes of wild strawberry, cherry, persimmon, and plum. The cool, late 2023 vintage brought real verve, balancing bright fruit with a silky texture that softens the tannins and extends the finish.
